As you probably already know, _____________, my (son, daughter) attends Cathedral School. Cathedral is a unique school, and I’m so glad that (he/she) has the opportunity to be part of such a loving community.
Every year, our Home & School Association works hard to raise a budgeted amount to help offset the operating costs of the school. The money we raise helps to purchase books, supplies and special programs for the students, as well as to support our spectacular teachers, and cover the ever increasing costs of heat, electricity, and insurance. Our goal for this year is $40,000.
You can help us reach our goal even if you cannot attend our fundraising events! Here is how it works. Go to Donate On-line Now and follow the instructions on the page to make an on-line donation. The service we are using is completely secure, so there are no worries. Remember, Cathedral School is a non-profit organization with a 501 ©(3) tax-exempt status, which means that your donation is completely tax-deductible! Many companies will match employee gifts to charitable organizations – maybe yours! By taking this option, you can double your gift.
As I mentioned earlier, Cathedral School is very unique. We are a private school in name only. More than half our student body qualifies for tuition assistance. Many of our students qualify for the free or reduced hot lunch program – a key indicator of childhood poverty. As the only inner city Catholic elementary school in Portland, we serve a very diverse student population base. In fact, this year, the families of Cathedral School represent over 20 different countries! We celebrate our diversity, and try to learn from each other every day.
