Dorcas Thete, photographed with her family above (standing at far left), graduated from Cathedral School's 8th Grade last year.  This fall, Ms. Thete, originally from the Congo, is attending the prestigious Walnut Hill School, a boarding school in Natick, Mass. with dreams of becoming a professional actress.  Walnut Hill has offered her a scholarship as long as she maintains a B average in her classes.  The school offers a rigorous schedule for their students, including a full day of traditional curriculum, followed by an arts curriculum from 2 - 6 PM.  "I'm really nervous, about the schedule," Thete said.  "But I'm also prepared."  Congratulations, Dorcas!  Everyone at Cathedral School is proud of you and wish you all the best!

Cathedral School was very pleased to have the Miss Portland Diner as one of our corporate sponsors for our golf tournament a few years back.  The Diner was recently purchased by Tom Manning, Cathedral Class of 1968 (far left in photo).  The restored and refurbished diner opened in the fall of 2008 and is located on Portland's Marginal Way, just a few blocks from Cathedral.
