    League Champions !

The 2009-2010 Cathedral Saints 7th & 8th Grade boys basketball team capped off an 11 -1 season winning the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Maine Junior High Championship. This is the second time in four years that the Cathedral Saints have won this championship. On Thursday, February 25th, the Saints beat the Portland Boys Club Yellow Jackets 49-48. Fueled by 7th grader Zordan Holman’s 32 points, the Saints were led by 8th grade captains Adwin Dougingu and Emmanuel Ismail. Mark Bankamwabo and Blaise Butera’s shooting opened the floor for Cathedral, while Yosief Gebrewahid and Tony Banga offered help off the bench. Cathedral reached the finals after their win over St. Brigid’s in the semi-finals powered by 7th grader Tovic Ben, Jessy Augustino, Bertin Ntamakemwa and Camille Kirongozi. With six players returning next season, the Saints look forward to competing again as defending champions! Special thanks to our dedicated coaches, Mr. John Mullen and Mr. Bruno Napolitano for all their support, guidance and encouragement.
